From 9 AM to 3 PM, this beloved upcountry tradition will span across Waimea, with festivities taking place at Parker Ranch Historic Homes, Church Row, Kamuela Liquor Store, Parker Ranch Center, and historic Pukalani Stables. Enjoy a full lineup of multi-cultural performances, hands-on demonstrations, artisan crafts, and delicious food booths. Join us as we celebrate Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language Month) across Hawaiʻi. We invite all Hawaiian language speakers and learners to have fun and participate in a range of activities including casual conversations, shopping, dining, entertainment, games, and competitions. February is Hawaiian language month, a time to strengthen and support the native language of Hawaiʻi, the mother tongue of the Hawaiian people. Thanks to former Gov. Neil Abercrombie for his support in signing Act 28 in 2013 dedicating February as Hawaiian language month. This year, seven Ola Ka ʻĪ events are happening on four different islands. The goal of these events is to hear our beloved language in every corner of our community.
